This week's Logistics Bulletin reports on new business development and contract wins from around the globe. In Europe, CEVA Logistics Italia has signed a 5-year agreement with Press-Di to manage the publishing group's logistics, whilst Kuehne + Nagel is supporting the supply chain strategy of French retailer Conforama. In Asia, Penske Logistics has secured a multiyear logistics contract with Key Safety Systems, Siemens has awarded Kuehne + Nagel China a contract and GAC Samudera Logistics (GSL) has won a renewal of its deal to support Nestlé Indonesia. In the US, Kreido Biofuels has entered into a long term liquids handling agreement with Vopak.Elsewhere, in Asia, Toll is enhancing its position within the marine and mining logistics sector with the proposed acquisition of Sembawang Kimtrans and reports suggest that DHL is seeking to buy-out the 50% stake in Exel-Sinotrans held by Sinotrans. In Europe, Eimskip has now purchased 100% of UK-based Innovate. DC developments feature Honda, Target, Eroski, FedEx Freight, NYK Logistics, DHL Exel Supply Chain, Pacer Distribution and ProLogis.
DHL seek 50% stake in Exel-Sinotrans
14 June 2007 - Reports in China suggest that DHL has expressed interest in acquiring Sinotrans’ 50.0% stake in Exel-Sinotrans Freight Forwarding Co Ltd, a joint venture between Deutsche Post affiliate Exel LLC and Sinotrans Air Transportation Development Co Ltd
The official Shanghai Securities News reported. Jerry Hsu, president of DHL Greater China and South Korea, as saying that the Company is in talks with Sinotrans. In April, Sinotrans told the Beijing Equity Exchange that it plans to sell its 50.0% stake in the joint venture.
