Leading locomotive leasing company RAILPOOL takes over ajax Loktechnik GmbH

• Expansion of capacity for operational maintenance marks further step on company’s growth journey
• Second workshop location at Europe's cargo hub Port of Hamburg underlines genuine competence for full service from a single source

Munich, February 15, 2021 - RAILPOOL GmbH, one of Europe's leading rail vehicle leasing companies, will take over Hamburg-based locomotive maintenance company ajax Loktechnik GmbH effective March 1, 2021.

The locomotive rental company RAILPOOL places particular emphasis on its genuine competence for comprehensive service on rail vehicles. With the takeover of ajax Loktechnik GmbH, RAILPOOL acquires flexible mobile service, experience in heavy maintenance and the workshop in Hamburg. Due to its location, the maintenance facility is predestined for operational maintenance services and is thus RAILPOOL's second workshop location at the important cargo rail hub of Hamburg. Both workshops will of course remain accessible to all customers and locomotives.

Torsten Lehnert, CEO of RAILPOOL GmbH, explains: "Since its foundation, RAILPOOL has been on a continuous growth journey. Christoph Engel, who manages RAILPOOL Lokservice GmbH & Co KG, takes over the management of ajax Loktechnik GmbH from Maja Halver and Tim Müller. Maja Halver, who founded the company with her partner in 2010, will remain associated with the company in an advisory role.
