The global Gfast chipset market will record a CAGR of 90.61% during 2021-2027. The Gfast chipset incorporates this standard into CPE and DPU devices. CPE units are placed on customer premises and DPU units are placed at distribution points in the carrier network. G.fast is basically a DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) protocol for local robs of less than 500 meters, and has a performance target of between 150 Mbit/s and 1 Gbits/s depending on the loop length. High speed is reached through a very short loop. The first G.fast chipset was released in October 2014, and commercial hardware was released in 2015. Distribution of this chipset began in 2016. Initially, the G.fast chipset was designed for loops less than 250 meters. In early 2015, Sckipio demonstrated G.fast, which provides over 100Mb/s of about 500 meters. Technologies used in G.fast chipsets include modulation, duplexing, channel coding and vectoring.
