Treatment

For the treatment of a simple fracture, a splint or cast is used. In case of an unstable fracture, if the bone has moved, then it needs to be set and held in place with the help of pins and wires. Such fractures do not require surgery. But serious fractures may require surgery for the bone fixation and for holding the bone fragments together with the help of pins, plates, or screws.
