Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) is a chemical process used to produce high quality, high-performance, solid materials. The process is often used in the semiconductor industry to produce thin films. CVD, Dymax & Keyence Collaborate to Accelerate ECMO Development
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y., – July 14, 2020 – CVD Equipment Corporation (NASDAQ: CVV) today announced that its subsidiary, CVD Materials Corporation (CVDM), will together with Dymax Corporation and Keyence Corporation of America collaborate in an effort to accelerate the development of CVDM’s novel c-VACNT™ Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) platform. ECMO devices are used to add Oxygen and remove Carbon Dioxide from a blood stream during periods when the patient’s lungs are not performing at appropriate levels. Typically, they are used during heart / lung surgery, but have recently been used as a last resort for recovery from COVID-19 illness.
CVDM will incorporate Dymax’s UV curing materials and Keyence’s 2D scanning technology for manufacturing ECMO prototype test devices based on CVDM’s patent pending c-VACNT™ materials platform. This multi company collaboration is intended to facilitate manufacturing for a range of novel ECMO devices for in-vitro and in-vivo tests to document their efficiency and safety.
Aixtron launch CVD equipment for production of graphene
Monday, July 1, 2019: AIXTRON's new systems enable cost-effective and large-scale production of graphene and related materials by chemical vapour deposition. Today, Graphene Flagship industrial partner AIXTRON showcased two new systems that enable cost-effective graphene production for a myriad of applications – such as consumer electronics, sensors, and photonics.The new devices allow the production of graphene under ambient conditions, and bring the cost of graphene films down by two orders of magnitude.
Graphene Flagship partner AIXTRON introduced results from two of its systems that enable the large-scale production of graphene through chemical vapour deposition (CVD). The Neutron is a roll-to-roll system capable of depositing large areas of graphene on metal foils under ambient conditions; and the CCS 2D system enables wafer-scale production of graphene on insulating wafers, a breakthrough that will speed up the development of new graphene electronics. To demonstrate the cost-effective nature of the graphene produced, AIXTRON distributed samples at the Industrial Forum.

Jusung Engineering to launch TSD system
2019.01.15: Jusung Engineering, a semiconductor and display deposition equipment maker, plans to launch TSD (Time Space Divided) system. It is a product that enables high quality thin film deposition optimized for atomic layer deposition.
Jusung's TSD system is capable of implementing thermal atomic layer deposition (ALD), plasma (PE) atomic layer deposition, and IPT(In Cycle Plasma Treament) on a single piece of hardware. In order to uniformly deposit a thin film on a wafer by atomic layer deposition, the source and the reaction gas must not occupy the same space at the same time. The TSD system controls Source, Purge, and Reactant gas exposure in a way that divides time and space. The user can flexibly apply a desired material recipe. The atomic layer deposition process is a technology that has evolved from chemical vapor deposition (CVD), which creates thin films on the wafer to support nanometer-scale circuit line width processes.
Using the TSD system, it is possible to realize high quality film. It can manage next-generation semiconductors of complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS), such as ultra-low-10-nm DRAM and 3D NAND. Also, since the process window is wide, it is possible to keep up with application change and process fine control. This is why Jusung believes that the TSD system is an optimized system for the atomic layer deposition process.
