CIGNEX Datamatics Appraised at CMMI Maturity Level 3

The Rating demonstrates that CIGNEX Datamatics incorporates best practices to deliver high quality services offerings to its customers

CIGNEX Datamatics, the global leader in providing enterprise-class Open Source solutions has announced that the company’s Ahmedabad (India) based delivery center has been appraised at Level 3 of the Carnegie Mellon University Software Engineering Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI ®). The appraisal was performed by KPMG, Mumbai.

CMMI is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance. It is a prestigious and internationally recognized gold standard for benchmarking processes related to software development for organizational efficiency.

An appraisal at maturity level 3 indicates that CIGNEX Datamatics is performing at a “defined” level. At this level, processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods. The organization’s set of standard processes, which is the basis for maturity level 3, is established and improved over time.

The Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPIsm) was conducted across multiple Software development projects handled at CIGNEX Datamatics. The appraisal process had started in May 2011 and the results were announced after the SEI completed its audit processes.
