Platform P.O.P. (P.itch O.ur P.lanet) announced today that it is launching the world’s first XR platform to give users a fully immersive technological experience around the positive changes being developed for the planet.
Global expert teams from around the world are collaborating on an XR platform that will connect scientific teams and institutions to users by bringing them ‘right to the heart’ of their C&E projects.
Founder, Sandy Sheerin, claims that the PCE industry (Platforms for Climate & Environment) is going to be highly competitive from 2021 onwards, with multiple platforms publishing content on C&E advancements.
“While we will see a massive push towards linear content and interactive sites, Platform P.O.P.’s XR experience will delve further by breaking down complex scientific data, to give users a wholly immersive adventure of how, why, when and where these initiatives will have positive effects on the planet”, explains Sheerin.
The XR industry alone is set to be worth over €50 billion USD by 2024, with a growing appetite for climate and environmental issues to be part of it.
Platform P.O.P. allows C&E scientific researchers, developers and companies to put forward their projects and prototypes through augmented, mixed and virtual realities. For instance, under its Oceans model, users will be able to virtually travel to the depths of oceans to submerge themselves in projects protecting coral reefs and marine life.
Launching in Q2 of 2021, the platform will also create experiences around Land & Earth, Species, Eco-Tech, Materials, AgTech and Energy, produced in partnerships with leading C&E groups, from multiple worldwide institutions.
