Learning Technologies’ 2020 Gold Award for Best Online Distance Learning Programme
The Business in Practice (BiP) Program is a WBS offering that allows MBA students an opportunity to practice what they’ve learned in a realistic environment. By supporting students’ professional readiness through the use of an immersive, online business simulation, custom-developed by IndustryMasters, the program offers an opportunity to test ideas and actively practice new knowledge. “Intensive, yet rewarding,” was how one Masters student described the event.
Prior to 2020, the program had been a blended learning module with students from around the world attending traditional, in-person classes. COVID-19 forced a transition to an entirely online experience with the same global student base of 540 participants now learning from their home countries. BiP became a fully digital solution aimed at preparing students for remote working, collaborating in teams across multiple locations and time zones, and incorporating the latest in technology and tools, despite the challenges of a global pandemic.

Rimmer further noted, “We’ve been delivering completely online learning experiences for many years, having developed web-based business simulations for more than a decade now. We were fully prepared to meet the demands brought on by COVID.”
