Chicago Switchboard to acquire The Park Companies

Elmhurst, IL – December 2, 2020 - Chicago Switchboard LLC, headquartered in Elmhurst, IL announced that it has acquired the Detroit, MI based The Park Companies, dba Park Detroit and Park Electric.

The purchase will allow both companies to expand the geographies where they can serve customers, and significantly increase the product offering, covering needs from low to high voltage.
“Our acquisition of The Park Companies is a major stepping-stone towards our long-term goal to build a national provider in the custom electrical distribution industry. We welcome The Park Companies into the Chicago Switchboard family, and we look forward to working together to continue to offer superior technical solutions to our customers” said Roberto Ferranti, CEO of Chicago Switchboard.

Rand Overdorf, The Park Companies President, added that “it was clear since the beginning of our conversation with Chicago Switchboard of the strategic fit between the two companies. Mr. Overdorf is expected to stay on board to support the transition.

Product and end market synergies are going to drive the value of the combined entity. “Combining the two companies allows us to provide the full spectrum of product from low voltage to high voltage and expanding Chicago Switchboard’s market from the Midwest to the East Coast” said Gordon Liao, Chairman of the Board.
