Willie Herath Set to Perform and Judge at RockSTAR Music Educations’ Battle of the Bands

HOLLYWOOD, CA (June 11, 2007)– Indie recording artist, Willie Herath, will proudly join RockSTAR Music Education for its second-annual partnership with the legendary Hard Rock Cafe Hollywood for an extraordinary Battle of the Bands competition on Thursday, June 14 from 5:30-8:30 p.m..

As a singer and songwriter, Herath is definitely a qualified celebrity judge. He will perform as well as judge more than 300 child musicians (over 50 bands) compete for title of the Ultimate RockSTAR. The event celebrates the Hard Rock Cafe’s Founder’s Day, commemorating the 36th anniversary of the first Hard Rock Cafe opening in London. It will be co-hosted by magician Justin Kredible and Gretchen Bonaduce.

Among Willie Herath, judges for the contest include:

• Chris Slade – Drummer for AC/DC, Tom Jones, Jimmy Page, Pink Floyd, Paul Rodgers, among others.
• Gerry Brown “The Gov” – Has engineered/produced some of the music biz’s best known artists, with over 42 Platinum and Gold Records and five Grammy nominations.
• Sabrina Sloan- Season 6 American Idol finalist
• Shane Drake – Music video director who won top honor of “Video of the Year” at MTV’s 2006 Video Music Awards for Panic! at the Disco.
• Efren Ramrez – Star of Napoleon Dynamite
• Liza Snyder – Christine Hughes on the CBS sitcom “Yes, Dear.”

“I am a fan of any Battle of the Bands event, but I just know this one is really going to impress me. I am excited to perform and judge for RockSTAR’s music education,” said Willie Herath. “I wish I had been a part of something like this when I was younger! What a rockin’ program.”
