ONEPOINT Projects 19.1 Empowers Global Project Portfolio Management through Multi-Currency Support

The new version also features meeting management improvements and enhances project planning and controlling.

Raaba/Graz, November 24, 2020 — With its latest version, 19.1, ONEPOINT Projects has taken a significant step towards the more flexible project cost management. By enabling multi-currency support on project level, customers can now select a specific currency for individual, local projects worldwide. The release further brings together the comments from to-do lists and meeting minutes. It also enhances project planning and controlling of proceed types as well as drafting work packages and stories.

Multi-Currency Support
"A lot of our medium-sized and large customers are operating globally, owning several offices around the world. For them, being able to use local currencies in their projects is crucial for their cost management," explained Gerald Aquila, Founder & CEO of ONEPOINT Projects. "Naturally, management still gets a clear, aggregated overview on the portfolio level in the default system currency."

To avoid errors, conversion rates can be set up manually or imported via Excel sheets. SAP users can also synchronize the conversion rates directly from SAP using ONEPOINT's SAP Connector. Customers can generate cost-related reports in the project currency as well as in the default system currency.

Bringing Together Comments from to-Dos and Meeting Minutes
After a meeting, the follow-up of to-dos is now more accessible and time-saving for project teams than ever since ONEPOINT brings the commenting functionalities from to-do lists and meeting minutes together. The to-do notes created in a meeting are now automatically merged with local to-do comments. Both are visible inside the “Comments” section in the to-do details at a glance. Team members can add comments on both sides and benefit from having them unified in one place.

Additional Proceed Types for More Precise Project Controlling
Until now, customers could only use built-in personnel proceeds for project controlling. These proceeds were automatically calculated based on resource assignments and external hourly rates. However, with ONEPOINT Projects 19.1, customers can now define additional, manually entered proceed types, thus improving differentiation. When reselling material, developed products, or licenses, these proceed types are included allowing for more precise project cost planning and controlling.

Practical Planning with Draft Work Packages and Stories
With the new release, draft work packages and stories are also visualized in the resource utilization and allocation views. Until now, they were only displayed in the planning view. Naturally, these activities are intentionally not visible to project members in personal task lists, and they are not yet synced with Jira. Project managers can take advantage of this improvement to plan draft work packages and stories more effectively without disclosing them in advance by team members.
