The ISO 26262 functional safety training will help attendees understand the various safety processes as well as legal responsibilities and what is involved to achieve compliance.

SGS is a leading functional safety service provider and possesses unrivaled expertise in training candidates for ISO 26262 automotive functional safety. The abundant experience of the experts at SGS is a hallmark of the training program and it additionally incorporates all recent developments in the functional safety field.

Adapted from IEC 61508, the ISO 26262 standard (http://www.iso.org/iso/catalogue_detail?csnumber=43464) defines functional safety for automotive equipment applicable throughout the lifecycle of all automotive electronic and electrical safety-related systems. Functional safety features form an integral part of each product development phase, ranging from the specification, to design, implementation, integration, verification, validation, and production release.

The structure of the training is divided into separate modules that focus in turn on safety management and processes, development of a risk analysis to a functional safety concept, system development incorporating technical safety concepts, hardware and software development with regard to safety features, and a methodical approach to analytics for safety analysis.

SGS supports the automotive industry in all matters relating to functional safety with a network spanning 144 countries. SGS offers a wide range of solutions for training that include public training courses as well as modules for customized in-house training for clients. Professional automotive qualification training programs include Automotive Functional Safety Professional (AFSP) and Automotive Functional Safety Expert (AFSE).
