Press release from: Hyatt at Olive 8

SEATTLE, Wash. (April 16, 2012) – Hyatt at Olive 8, Seattle’s first and only LEED-certified hotel, continues to lead the city of Seattle in green building initiatives with the announcement of rooftop wind turbines. The revolutionary turbines repurpose neutral exhaust from Urbane, the organic Seattle restaurant located on the first floor of the downtown hotel, into energy to help power the hotel and condominium project and decrease wasted resources. Bringing this cost-effective, wind power technology to the United States for the first time, the projected annual output of the two turbines is 8,700 kilowatts, or enough energy to power a small house for a year.
