Manufacturer of precision tools uses new ERP solution

Karlsruhe, 06.06.2007 – mimatic Zettl GmbH have produced and distributed precision tools for the metal and wood processing industry worldwide for over 30 years. In the near future the company will optimize its business processes using the abas Business Software (ERP, PPC, MRP, eBusiness).

What triggered mimatic to search for a new ERP software was the fact that certain mimatic processes could no longer be realized using the old software. This concerned the link to the subsidiary in the USA, the link to the external sales force and also the customization of specific core processes in production, sales and distribution and the warehouse.

“Our team evaluated 10 of the most important (to us) ERP providers in the ‘classic selection process’ which took around one and a half years. We ended up attending the workshops of two providers. In the end we made the decision to use ABAS”, resumes Thomas Sräga, Head of IT at mimatic.

The company management was convinced by the fact that the “core processes in the standard can be transparently represented and other processes can be easily adjusted because of the upgrade and release compatibility.”
