Lloyd Westcord Talks about the Future of Clean Energy

Lloyd Westcord focuses its attention on the discussions about the future of clean energy by Bill Gates on the ECO:nomics conference. The conversation revolves around carbon capture, future nuclear power plants, the importance of innovation and the effect the lack of energy has on the poorest people around the world.

Over the last 200 years, energy is the thing that has allowed civilization to dramatically change everything. The conversation was centered on the dramatic way energy can have an effect on our future and the need to decrease energy cost, where Lloyd Westcord totally agrees with it. According to Gates, we must not just slow the growth or shrink carbon emissions, if possible to get it zero.

However, he said that doesn’t have to be absolutely zero, but if possible, we have to get to intensely low numbers if we don’t want to increased warming every year. And carbon capture is one of the most essential factors to lessen carbon emissions in the future. This is a way of capturing and storing carbon dioxide in a way that does not allow carbon dioxide to escape into the atmosphere. But in order to do this, we have to be willing to pay for it to advance into a better future.
