Smart lighting specialist Innr adds high performance WiFi lamps to its proven Zigbee portfolio

Hilversum, 19 October 2020 - The Dutch lighting experts announce the expansion of light sources that can be integrated into any existing WLAN wireless network via app.
In contrast to the common smart luminaires from Innr, which are based on the Zigbee standard, no bridge is required to operate the new WiFi bulbs. This predestines the WLAN products as cost-effective entry-level solutions for installations in a small number of rooms.

Innr co-founder Jeroen Dalderop sees an increasing demand for small and easy-to-install solutions that position themselves alongside the popular Zigbee networks. Innr is targeting a target group that is price sensitive, he explains.
For this reason, Innr is initially presenting two versions with E27 mounts, covering white as well as white and coloured light. These products can replace any conventional light bulb and can be remote controlled via WiFI and an app.

Unlike Zigbee network products, which have a market share of about 50 percent in Europe, no bridge is necessary, but therefore the number of LEDs that can be operated in a WiFi network is limited. Innr recommends the use of a maximum of ten bulbs to prevent excessive use of the wireless network.

At the same time as the new WiFi line, Innr is presenting the new Innr for WiFi app that simulates lighting effects such as a sunrise. The WiFi products can be bundled in scenes and can also be switched by time control, which is a special feature of WiFi lights.

In future, the app will be able to control both Zigbee products and WiFi products. When launched, the application can only be used for WiFi lights.

"Controlling both Zigbee and WiFi lamps with a single app is a unique feature of the Innr solution," says Dalderop. "Especially for people who decide to use smart lights in their home for the first time, a possible later extension with Zigbee components is attractive. For example, if at a later date other rooms are to be equipped with smart LEDs or outdoor lights are to be added.”

Innr offers the E27 WiFi products in Europe in a double pack. White WiFi LEDs have the product designation WRB 765-2 and cost 24.99 euros. Two RGB lamps (WRB 785 C-2) are available at a price of 29.99 euros, which can be operated with a choice of 16 million colours.
