MEI Applauds Bloomberg Businessweek on Website Redesign

03-30-2012 03:53 AM CET | IT, New Media & Software

Press release from: Managing Editor Inc.

Jenkintown, PA (March 29, 2012) — Managing Editor Inc. (MEI) congratulates Bloomberg Businessweek on its recent website redesign, which went live earlier this month. New York-based Bloomberg L.P., one of the world’s leading providers of financial information and analysis, uses version 6 of the vjoon K4 Cross-Media Publishing Platform for managing and delivering content to the site, as well as several of its other output channels. MEI is the exclusive distributor of vjoon K4 in the Americas.

Bloomberg debuted the new businessweek.com site in the first week of March 2012. The updated homepage was designed to complement its print magazine counterpart, which itself was revamped two years ago. Among the online version’s enhancements: more photos and graphics, additional stories and business analysis, color-coded section tabs and other features that more effectively reflect Businessweek’s hard-copy look and feel.

The website’s production team kicked off the redesign in 2011, when it began implementing a new, custom-built content-management system. The CMS was tailored to integrate with Bloomberg’s K4 system, which outputs articles and other content using the K4 XML Exporter™ add-on. Once content could easily be fed to the new site, the team got started on a design overhaul that would complement the print product’s new format.

“vjoon K4 has been the backbone of cross-media publishing at Businessweek for years,” said Dennis McGuire, CEO and president of MEI. “We’re honored that their system continues to be an essential part of everyday production and has helped make it possible to implement these redesigns and new technologies.”
