Omniplex is first to offer Storyline training courses
“Omniplex has already sold a number of licences for Storyline – in advance of the product’s launch,” revealed Helen Smirthwaite, Omniplex’s Community Manager. “This suggests that, just as the Articulate Studio suite of products is continuing to gain popularity as the e-learning developer’s authoring tool of choice, so Storyline will become a market leader among those who want even greater functionality from their authoring tool.”
Omniplex, which distributes a range of e-learning related products, including those from Articulate, throughout the UK and Europe and provides training for those who want to use them, has organised a Storyline training course for 25th to 27th April. Further details of this and subsequent Storyline training courses can be obtained from Helen Smirthwaite, at Omniplex.
Omniplex is the only certified trainer for Articulate products, including Storyline, in the UK.
“While the Articulate Studio suite of products remains at the core of e-learning authoring, Storyline – due for launch soon – is intended for those who want to produce more ‘advanced’ e-learning materials,” explained Omniplex’s managing director, Matthew Lloyd. “Essentially, Storyline complements the rest of the Articulate product range.”
Storyline is a standalone desktop authoring tool that provides e-learning authors with greater flexibility and advanced features while maintaining the ease of use of the Articulate Studio and PowerPoint products.
According to Lloyd, Storyline is particularly suitable for those who are developing learning materials for delivery via mobile devices. It will be able to publish iOS-compatible output via HTML5 – although, since various browsers support HTML5 to varying degrees, there is still some development work to be done on the product and this will be affected by browsers’ technological developments.
The Articulate suite of rapid development e-learning tools is based on the view that, in today's fast-paced business environment, organisations need to empower people with expert knowledge. This means that organisations must be able to produce employee training/ learning materials quickly and effectively. In turn, this means that the tools that produce these materials must not only be able to create exceptional e-learning content but also be easy to use.
The Articulate Suite of products comprises:
• Presenter: software which allows users to add interactivity and narration to PowerPoint slides.
• Engage: templates that allow users to create rich-media interactivity including process, timeline, pyramid diagram, labelled graphic and interactive FAQ.
• Quizmaker: provides question types that go beyond the basics of multiple-choice, true/false and Likert questions to include 20 question types such as drag-and-drop questions and hot spots.
• Video Encoder: allows users to add full-motion video – including video recorded from webcam - to content in any Articulate product.
Omniplex is a leading provider of e-learning and related tools and services for:
• informal learning (ad hoc, peer-to-peer, social learning),
• formal learning (authoring solutions, learning delivery and tracking, and learning reinforcement) and
• training, support, content development and integration services
Based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, in the UK, and in Montreal, Canada, Omniplex supports clients across Europe and North America.
