MOL enhance Asia - South Africa service network
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President: Koichi Muto) today announce theupgrade of Asia-South Africa network with two of the following changes.
MOL will meet the customer needs by providing high-quality direct services and by providing variety of port coverage continuously.
1) MOL will join new Asia and South Africa Service (ASA)
Opening of the new route “ASA” linking Central and South China, Taiwan, South East Asia and South Africa starting on 8th April 2012.
MOL will offer a weekly service by joining the existing ASA service operated by Kline (Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha) and PIL (Pacific International Lines). The service will be operated by 8 vessels (Total Rotation: 56 days) and MOL will provide one ship (MV MOL DELIGHT).
This service will offer direct inbound and outbound service between Central China, Taiwan and South Africa region and strengthen the existing network in South Africa region (Durban and Cape Town).
ASA Rotation (Total Rotation: 56 days)
Shanghai – Ningbo – Keelung – Hong Kong – Shekou – Singapore – Port Kelang – Durban – Cape Town – Port Kelang – Singapore – Hong Kong - Shanghai

2) MZX will add Nacala call
MOL’s current Mozambique Express service (MZX) will propose to extend the coverage to Nacala in fortnightly basis from May-June 2012. Nacala is one of the largest port at the North of Mozambique.
MZX Rotation (Total rotation: 35days)
Tanjung Pelepas – Singapore – Port Louis – Durban – Maputo
– Tamatave / Nacala (in alternative weekly basis) – Tanjung Pelepas.
