Tea concentrate is preferred both in Residentials and the food service industry, but the comparative demand is higher in the food service industry. Tea concentrate is brew which dilutes in a hot and cold liquid such as milk, water, etc. and is ready to serve. With the rise in demand for tea concentrates the number of flavors offered is also rising. The tea concentrates come in different flavors such as ginger, cinnamon, and berries, etc. In the food industry, maximum food joints offer tea as a beverage along with other beverages. It is the most demanded product in the food industry as a complement product with food. In Residential industry Morning and evening tea are the necessary item to start the day. Tea concentrates also come under healthy beverages in the health industry. Herbal and green tea are the most sought after types of tea concentrates. Recent Key Trends and Developments
• In August 2019, Herbalife announced its plan to establish a product innovation center in Shanghai, China. The company has planned to invest 100 Mn RMB, equivalent to US$ 14.3 Mn in the next three years. The new R&D center in China will help the company strengthen its base in the country.
• In February 2019, PepsiCo. launched a new range of iced tea which was made available on both online and offline stores. This new product launch by the company strengthened its product portfolio and made it one of the leading players in the tea segment.
• In June 2018, Unilever received positive opinion on the company’s tea products from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). This brought a positive recognition for Unilever in Europe, which has enhanced the brand image of the company in the market.
• February 2018, Herbalife created "China Growth and Impact Investment Fund" that intended to accelerate the growth of its business in China. The Chinese government offered US$ 90 Mn as funds to Herbalife for this initiative.
