Applications Open for Toyota’s 2nd Annual 100 Cars for Good Program

Gainesville, Florida—March 15, 2012—Gatorland Toyota is excited to announce that applications for Toyota’s second annual “100 Cars for Good” program are now open. Eligible nonprofit organizations can apply for the chance to win a brand-new Toyota vehicle on Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good Facebook page. The deadline for applications is March 26 at noon PT or when 5000 applications have been received—whichever comes first.

This is the second year that Toyota will be awarding 100 vehicles to 100 nonprofit organizations. The vehicles will be awarded to nonprofits based on the votes of the public. 500 finalists will be announced on April 10. Each finalist can then submit a video that will be featured on the Toyota 100 Cars site explaining how a new vehicle would aid their work. Toyota will also provide finalists with communications and social media tools and training to assist their efforts to raise awareness for their organization.

Voting will open to the public on May 14. Each winner will receive one of six Toyota models, including the Camry Hybrid, Highlander, Prius v, Sienna minivan, Sienna Mobility, or Tundra full-sized pickup truck. Toyota Financial Services will provide a complimentary six-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty for reach vehicle. The four runners up each day will each be awarded a $1,000 grant from Toyota.

About 100 Cars for Good

Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good initiative is the first to actively engage the public in determining how corporate philanthropic donations will be awarded. Last year’s winners included soup kitchens, horseback riding programs for children with cancer, and training for service dogs of wounded veterans.
