GEA Levati shows off its new SRC Rotary Retort at ANUGA

GEA Levati will be promoting its new System Rotary Combined (SRC) rotary retort at the ANUGA FoodTec 2012. The SRC is a new concept in rotary sterilisation and pasteurisation technology that reduces processing time and improves productivity compared with standard equipment, and potentially represents a step change in rotary sterilisation technology.

The SRC combines both fixed and rotating hot water jet nozzles in a single unit. This means that the spray coverage of the product is constantly changing during processing, eliminating cold spots and providing a much faster, uniform heat penetration throughout the batch. Uniform heat penetration ensures that all product within the retort achieves the correct processing temperature and no more.

Current users have found that they consistently reduce processing time by up to 15%, thereby reducing overall energy usage.

Engineers and sales staff from GEA Levati will be available throughout the show to explain to visitors exactly how the SRC produces its remarkable results. GEA will be taking its place on the joint GEA Group stand located in Hall 4.1.
