A NEW VISUAL APPROACH TO RHITHM GUITAR

Stefano Esposito, Italian guitarist and songwriter, has developed a rhythm guitar method called "Air Strumming" with a revolutionary diagram that allows you to understand rhythm and tempo in a visual and intuitive way.

"When a beginner plays, his right hand freezes, does not flow with the rhythm, and therefore loses control and timing. I have developed this interactive manual especially for those who start playing and approach rhythmics. In my teaching experience I always have found the difficulty that my students had at the beginning, that is when they had to relate with difficulty to rhythm and time. I concentrated all the focus on those "ghost strokes" that must be given "in the air" in order not to lose timing and groove. This course enables beginners to understand rhythm in an intuitive way, teaching them to maintain strumming even when the rhythm figure doesn't require strings to be struck. In a natural way, it makes those who follow it to be able to keep the right accents, the right timing and a perfect groove!

The "Strummigram" revolution

Air Strumming divides each tempo beat into colored fractions so as to give you a visual reference thanks to the Strummigram, a diagram invented by Stefano, which allows you to visualize the rhythm you are playing and always play with the right strum and with the right accents!

The Strummigram allows you to visualize the tempo because it divides the downbeat and the upbeat into colored rectangles. The "air" strokes are shown in brackets and further down for greater clarity; the black bar represents a chord held for several beats, while the black dotsare the eighth notes.

The blue rectangle represents the downbeat and must always be performed with a down stroke, be it ordinary or Air.

The yellow rectangle represents the upbeat and must always be performed with an up-stroke, be it ordinary or Air.
