Meet & Greet – The Scorpions live and in 3D!

By invitation of the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute –
The Scorpions at CeBIT 2012

Friday 9 March 2012 is the day the Scorpions – the world famous rock band from Hanover – will be dropping in on Cebit 2012. At the Next level S3D special exhibition area in hall 15 at 14:00 hrs they’ll be presenting excerpts from their 2011 Blu-ray “Live in 3D – Get your Sting & Blackout”. The Scorpions’ next stop is the 3D Innovation Center at the Fraunhofer Joint Stand in hall 9 – which has been moved to hall 26 this year – where they’ll be signing autographs and answering questions about their 3D music activities.

The concert was recorded on 15 April 2011 in Saarbrücken during their three year world farewell tour. Produced by Music Delight, director Gerd F. Schultze (2D concert productions for Peter Maffay, Joe Cocker, Santana and many others) used no less than eleven cameras to film the event. “Never before anywhere in the world have so many cameras been used to film such a live event – not at the Olympic Games, nor the NFL Superbowl half time nor a Champions League Final“, says Music Delight’s managing director and producer Gerd F. Schultze. “It’s an absolute world record!”

Based in Berlin, the 3D Innovation Center has brought together some 40 players from the 3D industry with the aim of taking 3D to a new level of development. The establishment and organization of the 3D Innovation Center is in the hands of the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute.

The Scorpions were invited by Fraunhofer HHI, the 3D Innovation Center, Music Delight – partner of the 3D Innovation Center – and Messe Hanover.
