SGS Authorized As Control Agency Industrial Security in Catalonia, Spain

SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, was authorized as the Control Agency Industrial Security in Catalonia, Spain by the Generalitat of Catalonia on July 19, 2011, and has successfully performed industrial safety inspections in the region since then.

Being the most highly industrialized region in Spain and the main contributor to the Spanish economy, Catalonia presents an attractive market for a wide range of companies.

With the aim to provide a complete portfolio of services to its customers in the region, including industrial safety inspections, SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, applied for authorization as the Control Agency Industrial Security.

On July 19, 2011, SGS successfully received the authorization as the Control Agency Industrial Security in Catalonia, Spain by the Generalitat of Catalonia, an autonomous government, and thus became an even more important player in the region’s industrial sector.

The authorization allows SGS to conduct regulatory safety inspections in various fields, including lifting and pressure equipment, high voltage, low voltage, storage of chemicals, gaseous fuel, refrigeration, thermal and petroleum facilities. With the authorization, SGS showcased its first-rate technical capacity, including human resources, devices and social liability insurance.
