Bangalore To Host 60th Indian Foundry Congress

The 60th Indian Foundry Congress and the Second Asia Foundry Forum will be held in Bangalore from March 2 to March 4, 2012 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) aimed at fostering the planned growth of the Indian Foundry industry by showcasing the latest trends and technologies from all over the world.

The Indian Foundry Exhibition 2012 (IFEX 2012), organised on the side lines of the 60th Indian Foundry Congress, is India’s leading trade fair on foundry technology, equipment and supplies. This trade fair covers the entire spectrum of the requirements of a modern day foundry. The event will provide an excellent platform for the Indian as well as overseas companies to showcase their state-of-the-art technologies and services, a network for new business opportunities.

The Congress, which gains the distinction of being India's largest foundry conclave, is based on the theme ‘Moulding success through Innovation’. The technical deliberations will focus on the emerging techniques and technologies for further improvements and optimization of quality, cost and delivery.

"The event will provide a platform for networking with Asian giants and world leaders in metal casting production. The Forum will bring together 12 leading Asian countries including China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Australia, who will share their Best Practices for sustainability and growth, which forms the main theme for all the deliberations," says Dr. H. Sundara Murthy, President, The Institute of Indian Foundrymen (IIF).

The Student Forum is one of the novel programs planned during the Congress. The Forum is aimed at showcasing the foundry industry as a potential growth area for the student community. Students from engineering colleges will be invited to participate in interesting programs. Apart from this, the Congress will be hosting a CEO Meet, Energy Forum and many more interesting programs to quench the intellectual thirst of the delegates.

"With the present Market Paradoxes of 'High Growth coupled with sudden Low Demand', it is imperative that the Asian Foundry Industry deliberates and take a considered view on how to Sustain the industry through the upheavals in the market and in the business environment along with the demographic challenges," adds N. Krishna Samaraj, Chairman, Asia Foundry Forum.

IIF is an unique organization having members from all areas of the foundry industry including suppliers of material, machinery and technology, research scholars, in addition to foundries.

The Asian Foundry Forum is the brainchild of the Chinese Foundry Association (CFA), which had organized the First Asian Foundry Forum in Beijing in the year 2010. Recognizing the Indian Foundry industry, CFA had requested India to host the Second Asian Foundry Forum.
