Mercy Medical Center Chooses Wolters Kluwer Health Clinical Solutions Sentri7® for Clinical Surveillance
Sentri7® surveillance software helps clinicians identify, track and report on a diverse range of patient care measures throughout the hospital. Sentri7 can give pharmacists a work-list of patients that need evaluation and education, with drug orders and corresponding lab values updated in real time.
"Sentri7 has changed the way our pharmacists practice at Mercy Medical Center," said Desmond Waters, Pharmacy Director at Mercy Medical Center. "This tool puts the needed clinical information at the pharmacist’s fingertips, saving countless hours of research. It ultimately provides a higher level of pharmacy service, which in turn translates into better patient outcomes."
Mercy Medical Center uses the Sentri7 Infection Prevention Module to help streamline infection prevention workflows including isolation management, healthcare-associated infection (HAI) investigation and National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) reporting.
"One of the greatest features of Sentri7 is the ability to quickly and efficiently get information to the National Healthcare Safety Network," said Heather Waters, Lead Infection Preventionist at Mercy Medical Center. As we are asked to do more and more data collection and reporting, Sentri7 gives us a head start at batch data inputting."
Before implementing Sentri7, Heather Waters said the infection prevention staff would go to different hospital floors to look for isolation rooms. Now, clinicians access Sentri7 on an iPad during rounds, therefore saving time and money.
"Since we went live with Sentri7, we have been able to ramp up our caseload in half the time -- and we look as organized as we feel," said Heather Waters. "The 'In Progress' documentation function allows us to write informal notes about cases to each other, so any IP can follow-up."
