Exceliance load balancing solutions are Cloud Ready, now supporting the major virtualization technologies

Jouy-en-Josas, February 21, 2012 – Exceliance’s line of ALOHA application load balancers are now 100% Cloud Ready. Now compatible with major virtualization technologies, Exceliance load balancers can be activated and configured as needed via an application programming interface (API) for better integration for hosting and IT providers and/or SaaS providers.

Compatibility with almost all hypervisors
Exceliance was one of the first software vendors to offer its application load balancers as a virtual appliance. Available to date for VMware and KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine, the virtualization solution for Linux), ALOHA load balancers are now compatible with Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix XenServer and Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization proprietary environments, as well as with the Xen open source hypervisor. With this enhancement, Exceliance is the first supplier in the market to offer load balancing solutions that can run on almost all virtualization platforms.

Administration suitable for the Cloud and SaaS solutions
Concurrently, the latest AHOLA version includes a new API to automate load balancer provisioning and configuration, by zone or customer (scope). Specially designed for hosting and IT providers with private, public or hybrid Clouds and for SaaS software providers, the API can be implemented in two different ways. Integrated into the hosting provider’s customer portal, it enables customers to create and manage their dedicated load balancer’s configuration themselves. Integrated into the hosting provider’s (or software publisher’s) internal administration tool, it provides increased industrialization of operating processes.
The latest version of the ALOHA API is the same across all virtualization environments. To accelerate rollouts and simplify administration, the API creates default configurations (which can then be reconfigured), uses a pre-existing configuration from another ALOHA instance or synchronizes the configuration of a cluster of ALOHA load balancers into a single operation.
