Brenda's Beauty Angels Welcomes New Board Member

Indianapolis, Indiana (August 19, 2020) – Brenda’s Beauty Angels, a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of the elderly, the seriously ill and their caretakers through beauty services, is happy to announce the appointment of Krishaun Burns as Director of Social Media of its Board of Directors, effective immediately.

Burns is the first social media director for Brenda’s Beauty Angels, which was established in 2019, following the passing of Brenda Gayle Barnett in 2015, who the nonprofit is named after.

“We are excited to welcome Krishaun to our board. She has demonstrated the passion and experience we seek to continue moving Brenda’s Beauty Angels forward and to continue delivering the loving-kindness, support and compassion to those we serve,” said Kathryn Woodward, president and founder.

Krishaun Burns, a graduate of Iowa State University and freelance brand designer, has five years of experience in content and social media marketing, copywriting and editing, graphic design and branding. Prior to becoming a freelance brand designer, Krishaun worked in marketing and communications for numerous nonprofits and municipal organizations, including, but not limited to, Iowa State University’s Office of Sustainability, West Bloomfield Parks and Recreation, Ames Chamber of Commerce, iGlow Mentoring and Joyce Ivy Foundation. She has also held executive board positions with Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc., Zeta Gamma Chapter and Iowa State University’s Black Student Alliance, both as the Public Relations Chair.

Brenda’s Beauty Angels provides beauty services to the elderly, the seriously ill, and their caregivers in hopes of enhancing the quality of life and to deliver loving kindness, support, and compassion to those they serve. Brenda’s Beauty Angels was founded in memory of Brenda Gayle Barnett, whose life was cut short at the age of 64 by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Brenda enjoyed beauty treatments and manicures, so her family arranged for her to have in-home services done. When they realized the profound impact that had on Brenda, they decided to found Brenda's Beauty Angels, to offer the same experience of dignity, hope, and respite to other patients, as well as their caregivers.
