Docpol Launches Edgy, New Broiler Farming Routines Handbook

A Nigerian based, Digital Poultry Farm Advisory and Marketplace—Docpol (Doctor of Poultry) launched a breakthrough, broiler farming handbook titled: “Weekly Routines For Profitable Broiler Farming” last month, Wednesday, 22nd of July, 2020; at their website: www.docpol.com. In order to provide poultry farmers, with daily, weekly and monthly routines for profitable broiler farming.

According to Mr. Obi – the Co-Founder of Docpol, “This handbook, was born out of the demand of the Docpol Poultry Community, to have a handy guide, filled with research verified information, on metrics and economics of brooding and raising different species of broilers profitably”.

He went further to say; “As Nigeria and indeed, the rest of the world, have recently slipped into economic recession, resulting from the ravaging effects of COVID-19; there tends to be food shortage. And the only way to avert such shortage is to empower both existing and intending farmers, with research verified information, available and distributed in digital format. This can help improve farming methodology; and subsequently, increase farm output to close the gap”.

The Docpol’s newly launched E-book, titled: “Weekly Routines For Profitable Broiler Farming”, contains in detail, ‘to do’ daily, weekly and monthly activities that most poultry farmers, hitherto skip. Which has become the bane of most broiler farmers; and has even caused many to quit the poultry farming business.

Mr. Obi says, for poultry farmers to succeed and get high output, they need precise information: on metrics and economics of poultry production; as well as environmental parameters. For example, the amount of temperature in degrees Celsius, needed at a given week or age of bird; humidity, ammonia contents or air density, light intensity, vaccination metrics and timelines, feed amounts per growth stage, weight gain per period and medications in time of disease.

Then he added that once these pieces of verified information are handy; and if farmers can follow them timely and strictly, then the different production timelines will be met and milestones achieved; which in turn will give consistent positive result in farm output.

“Poultry farming is a science and should be handled scientifically by putting every variable in place and leaving the constants as they are. And the docpol team are making sure that appropriate knowledge are implemented for the best productivity and results” says Mr.Obi.

Mr. Obi says, at such a time as this, farming knowledge and agricultural extension services should be digitized to spread faster, reach more farmers and deliver effective results. Also, small holder farmers should seek information on new ways to brood and raise chickens profitably; removing the hassles of mortality, non-uniformity of growth and weight.

Most of the routines revealed in this new E-book, are new discoveries that have been tested and trusted. And the docpol team maintains that following through the books and applying the techniques in it can guarantee the poultry farmer zero to five percent mortality rate, uniform growth of broilers and desired market weight at the point of sale.
