EP China 2012 Returns to Beijing with Its Ever Largest Scale

2012 International Exhibition on Electric Power Equipment and Technology (EP China / Electrical China 2012) as the largest and world-known electric power exhibition in China, will return to Beijing and be staged at China International Exhibition Centre, Beijing, PR China from 26-28 September 2012. The show scale together with the concurrent International Exhibition on Power Automation Equipment and Technology (EPA), will further expand to a new height that gathers 800 exhibitors in more than 28,000 sq. m exhibiting area.

Organized by China Electricity Council, EP exhibition series which held in Beijing and Shanghai in alternate years, are well-established and undergo a rapid growth with full support from major power group corporations and power grid corporations of China. The last edition – EP Shanghai / EPA 2011 was successfully held in Shanghai World Expo Convention & Exhibition Center in September 2011. It hit the highest record in terms of size, number of exhibitors and number of visitors in the electric power expo of China. 24,820 local and overseas trade visitors from 47 countries and regions gathered under one roof. Moreover, this premier event indicated its strong advancement with active participation of 581 renowned suppliers from 25 countries and regions, and overseas pavilions from Germany, Taiwan (TEEMA) and the United States.

With high recognition and staunch support from officials of the industry, EP Shanghai 2011 was well-attended by honorary guests from the government and leaders from power plants and power grid corporations. Mr. Qiu Zhi Jian, Director General of East China Bureau of State Electricity Regulatory Commission, Ms. Zhang Li Ying, Assistant General Manager of State Grid Corporation of China, Mr. Teng Le Tian, Deputy Director General of Purchasing Department, SGCC, and senior representatives from China Southern Power Grid, East China Grid, Huaneng, Datang, Huadian, Guodian, China Power Investment, etc. and over 30 local and overseas delegations led by trade associations and power group corporations visited the show’s opening ceremony.

20 sessions of conferences and symposia held alongside EP Shanghai 2011 attracted over a thousand of audiences from the industry. They included "2011 China Smart Power System Seminar", "Green Energy Symposium",“Fifth Power Quality Summit” and “Green Industrial Revolution Forum”, and "Electric Power Automation Forum". Numbers of experts such as Mr. Qiu Zhi Jian, Director General of East China Bureau of State Electricity Regulatory Commission, Mr Zheng Bao Sen, Vice President of State Grid Corporation, and Mr Lin Hai Xue, Professor of China Electric Power Research Institute attended to deliver speech and give analyses on the latest development of smart grid technology, electric power automation and green energy.

Riding on the previous success, EP China / EPA 2012 has already gained wide support from international trade associations and global market leaders. In the 12th Five-year Plan of China, the target of smart grids construction has debuted large demand for related equipment and technologies on electric power automation. It is estimated that over 200 billion investment will be allocated on the development of automation in power transmission and substation.
