31 years later: Eye surgeon who pioneered eye laser surgery in Denmark is still going strong

When Danish eye surgeon Peter Brincker enrolled in medical school back in 1968 he had no inkling of the long and successful career ahead of him.

Peter Brincker has dedicated more than 5 decades of his life to the field of eye laser surgery and recently celebrated his 31th year anniversary as owner of the private practice Øjenkirurgisk Klinik in Charlottenlund, Denmark.

In the early years of his career Peter Brincker helped pioneer two groundbreaking glaucoma treatments, and in the late 1980s he was among the very first eye surgeons to introduce eye laser technology in Denmark.

Since then Peter Brincker has continually sought new knowledge within the fields of ophthalmology and laser eye surgery and pushed himself and the clinic in Charlottenlund to offer patients the most cutting-edge eye laser procedures.

As a result Peter Brincker was the first eye surgeon in Denmark to offer eye laser surgery for hyperopia (1993), myopia (1998) and astigmatism (1998).

Today Peter Brincker's clinic in Charlottenlund is the only eye laser clinic in Scandinavia equipped to perform all of the modern eye laser procedures - LASEK, EPI-LASIK, PRK, FS-LASIK, RELEX-FLEX, RELEX-SMILE, WAVEFRONT and LASER-BLENDED-VISION.

Peter Brincker is not only keeping up with the latest technological advances in laser eye surgery, he is also very keen digital media. In spite of his age he is active on platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook, writes his own blog about ophthalmology and enjoys making videos for Youtube showing patients how he performs popular procedures like SMILE.

Peter is a much sought after lecturer and in addition to running Øjenkirurgisk Klinik in Charlottenlund and performing eye laser surgeries he travels the world as a member of European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS) and participates in congresses and seminars.

In brief: Peter Brincker is a force of nature and show to signs of stopping. We honour his achievements and cannot wait to see what comes next.
