Hot rolling mill is a process that involves rolling the steel at a high temperature, which is above the recrystallization temperature of the steel. High temperature steel is allowed to pass through one or more pairs of rolls to reduce the thickness or to make a uniform thickness which is to form the rolls. This process is similar to rolling dough. After the grain damage during processing, they recrystallize, which maintain equi-axed micro and preventing the coil from work hardening. This is done in a gas or oil-fired soaking pit for larger workpieces. For smaller work pieces, induction heating is used. When the material processed, the temperature must be monitored to ensure that it remains above the recrystallization temperature. Hot-rolled steel coils generally have little directionality in the mechanical properties and residual stress deformation caused. Hot-rolled steel coils have a wider tolerance for the amount of carbon including cold-rolled steel coils. Therefore, the coil is more difficult to use. Moreover, in general, hot-rolled products are cheaper than those of cold-rolled.
