„Nitaya” – the elegant clutch made of recycled materials
The successful designer Elisabeth A. Dichtl presents her first hand bag “Nitaya”, an elegant clutch exclusively made of recycledmaterials at the TrendSet fair in Munich in January 2012.
The work of the designer Elisabeth A. Dichtl has been characterized by authenticity, transparency, sustainability and quality for more than 15 years now. When creating her new products, special emphasis is always placed on considerations such as sustainability and ecology, either by choosing certified materials or by the sparing use of resources for her creations including the recycling aspect already. This becomes evident among other things in her sachets, her stools and lately also in her pillowcases made of cotton and plastic bags which are recycled for this purpose.
With the creation of the elegant clutch named “Nitaya”, Elisabeth A. Dichtl has consistently followed her philosophy that she started with the pillowcases, as videotapes from VHS cassettes are recycled in this hand bag. The VHS tapes were replaced by DVDs in the last few years and are not used any longer today. Elisabeth A. Dichtl uses them for crocheting trimmings for the bags´ front covers, thus giving them a new life. The bags´ materials are produced in Germany, they consist of mixed cotton fibres, 48% of which are made of recycled thread.
“Nitaya” is a classic clutch which can compete with any type of high-quality bag with regard to its design and processing. It consists, however, of recycled materials.
The name of this extraordinary bag comes from Thailand and means `always and forever´. Its creative designer fell in love with the country
and its friendly and open population during a stay in Thailand. So the bag is not only an homage towards her friend Nitaya but also to the wonderful country.
The bag is produced in two colour schemes, i.e. red and black. It is made in Germany and Poland in a limited edition of 555 pieces per colour scheme.
