RadiantBrands Creates New Online Presence for Western

Database-driven Web Site Presents Diverse Information about Venture Debt Firm.

BERKELEY, Calif. (February 02, 2012) – RadiantBrands (http://www.radiantbrands.com), a full-service creative branding and design agency, has completed development of a new website for Western Technology Investment (WTI, http://www.westerntech.com), a Silicon Valley-based venture debt firm that provides debt and equity capital to technology and life science companies. The new web site refreshes WTI’s online brand, and clearly positions the firm’s diverse capabilities and rich investment history.

When the venture debt firm decided to refresh its online image, they selected RadiantBrands because of the firm’s combined expertise in brand development and web design, as well as RadiantBrands’ work on similar projects for a number of other venture capital firms. After assessing WTI’s brand objectives, the RadiantBrands team developed a contemporary online look and feel and a new WTI brand mark.

As part of the website redesign, WTI wanted to develop a user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI) driven by a complex underlying database. RadiantBrands designed a sophisticated GUI that presents viewers with multiple filtering options, giving them the ability to view WTI’s extensive client portfolio by various criteria, including company name, industry sector and location. The portfolio view is instantly repopulated as the various filtering criteria are selected. The database structure also allows administrative access via a content management system, making it easier for WTI staff to update the site with new portfolio data and other timely content. Another development goal was to make the site readily viewable on all handheld devices, so the web site is built using Java rather than Flash technology, which also makes critical content more accessible to search engines.

“This was a great project for us because we had a chance to refresh WTI’s look and brand presence, and we could demonstrate our prowess at web design,” said Steven Donaldson, co-founder of RadiantBrands. “We created a clean, easy-to-use design that emphasizes WTI’s diverse portfolio and that can evolve as the company grows. And we built it with technology that ensures that the site is not only user-friendly and easily updated by the client, but search-friendly as well.”
