May 08, 2019 --– McClure’s Pickles (the US), one of the largest producers of gourmet pickled goods and condiments launched a new ready-to-drink Bloody Mary cocktail in cans. The first alcoholic beverage of the brand is canned from Michigan’s own Pigeon Hill Brewing Company and highlights McClure’s signature Bloody Mary Mix paired with vodka. McClure’s brings the new RTD cocktails to market introducing the single-serve 12 oz. cans that contain 7.5 percent of alcohol by volume into a competitive alcohol category.
April 29, 2019 --– The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) released a draft of regulations with respect to Alcohol Beverages Standards (statutory warning on liquors). As various alcohol beverages have their different requirements in terms of their standards and labeling patterns, a separate regulation for alcohol beverages was proposed and notified.
According to the draft, all liquor bottles need to comply with the specific labeling requirements along with the general labeling provisions which had been specified by the FSSAI Packaging and Labeling.
The concept of plain packaging is applied in the cases of alcohol introducing plain packaging. Plain packaging means selling of a product in the form of standardized or generic packets without adding any attractive trademark, logos, or brand names or colors. Some health warnings must substitute the brand name.
