Advantech ARK-DS220 OPS Digital Signage Player Receives Taiwan Excellence 2012 Award

Advantech announces that its Open Pluggable Specification (OPS) compliant digital signage player ARK-DS220 received the Taiwan Excellence 2012 Award. A total of 1145 products from 426 companies participated in the annual competition this year; ARK-DS220 was a recipient of the Taiwan Excellence 2012 Award, which exemplifies Advantech's leadership in manufacturing, innovation, and excellence. The ARK-DS220 will be showcased at Advantech’s stand 10S130 during Integrated Systems Europe that will take place from 31st January until 2nd February 2012 in Amsterdam RAI.

The ARK-DS220 complies with Intel® OPS (Open Pluggable Specification) standard to simplify device installation, and incorporates an Intel® Atom™ Processor and NVIDIA GT218 (ION2) graphic module for low power consumption and high graphics performance. Maximized cooling ensures system stability, and attention to detail fully satisfies customer requirements. Low Power Consumption with High Graphics Performance
The Advantech ARK-DS220 is the only model on the market equipped with an Intel® Atom™ D525 1.8GHz / N455 1.66GHz processor and the only model to integrate the NVIDIA ION2 platform. The Advantech ARK-DS220 utilizes the Intel® Atom™ processor based on its low-power consumption and relatively low cost. In addition to its low-power and low-cost features, ARK-DS220 is integrated with NVIDIA GT218 (ION2) graphic module for Full HD playback.

More Intelligent and Connected
ARK-DS220 OPS media player enables digital signage manufacturers to simplify the installation, use, maintenance and to deploy systems faster with lower costs for development and implementation. Its slot-in module is connected via a JAE 80-pin connector, and includes the HDMI, DP, UART, and USB2.0 signals. The player-screen communication interface via UART and HDMI CEC provides status reporting and control, and also supports digital audio/video signals via HDMI or display port, for picture-perfect content reproduction. ARK-DS220 also supports 1x GigaLAN, 1x COM ports, and 2x USB2.0, giving a great selection for data communication in display applications. The entire design makes digital signage applications more intelligent and connected.
