Black Marlin Venture Partners

Black Marlin Venture Partners

Black Marlin Venture Partners announced today that it is officially launching a fund designed to invest in underrepresented and underserved founders. The newly announced fund which began the due diligence of prospective early stage start ups early this month will focus on start-ups developing AI and IoT digital health platforms and associated software products.
Sanjay Kapoor, VP at BMVP added “We are looking for minority and underserved entrepreneurs with great potential who are driven and who have innovative ideas that will benefit from resources at such a critical stage of a company’s lifecycle, the beginning. Our fund is background agnostic but will look to identify founders in the digital health space who are from underserved communities and who are seeking support to bring cutting edge, and potentially disruptive, ideas to market.”
In addition to seed funding, companies chosen will have access to valuable insights from the Black Marlin executive and advisory team and will be given the opportunity to participate in monthly strategy sessions focusing on critical growth objectives including innovation strategy, resource allocation, data room development and go to market strategy
Black Marlin will be providing 5 ventures with a minimum $50,000 of non dilutive seed capital. They are looking for entrepreneurs who do not have access to the fast track in life but who have great potential. They should be from underserved communities (all ethnic backgrounds welcome); and ideally, their business will have an interesting model, niche market, and/or a differentiator than what is readily available in their prospective target market.
All ventures interested in submitting an application for consideration are directed to submit their applications via the firm’s website www.blackmarlinpartners.com or via email submission to impactfund@blackmarlinpartners.com. The deadline for submissions is August 1st. Winners will be announced on September 1st.
