Amsterdam, 18 June 2020 – MMD, the leading display specialist and brand license partner for Philips monitors, announces the new 24” (23.8" / 60.5 cm) Philips 242B1V LCD monitor. Designed to help professionals to improve productivity while protecting sensitive data and contents from onlookers, this new model features Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) and SmartImage to display images and video as brilliant/crisp as possible.

Secure confidential data from visual hacking
The Philips 242B1V instantly creates privacy with an easily switchable privacy mode, preventing visual hacking and hiding the screen from people around in open offices and co-working spaces. This new innovative feature is indeed specifically designed for those companies and professionals dealing with sensitive data that need to ensure its confidentiality even more. This Philips Privacy Mode offers an integrated solution for privacy without the hassle of clumsy screen protectors. By simply pressing a button, the screen appears dark and barely visible from both sides, while at the same time presenting a clear image from the front. Thanks to the Philips Privacy Mode introduction, only the user directly in front of the display can read content on the screen, benefitting from a more secure way to work.

Excellent picture quality and comfortable user experience
While helping to protect onscreen data, the Philips 242B1V delivers high quality images with Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution and IPS technology for an exceptionally wide range of accurate colour reproduction and extra wide viewing angles of 178°/178°.

Beyond privacy and performances, this new model is loaded with comfort-maximising features for an ergonomically friendly workspace. The display is equipped with EasyRead mode to guarantee a paper-like reading experience, and SmartErgoBase, a height-adjustable, swivelling and tiltable stand, allowing users to place the monitor at the ideal viewing distance and position. The Philips 242B1V also includes the LowBlue Mode setting, specifically developed for well-being, which reduces harmful shortwave blue light and FlickerFree technology, which reduces flicker for more comfortable viewing.

Sustainable & eco-friendly match with brilliant performance
The eco-friendly core of this monitor shines through its innovating features. The Philips 242B1V boasts three main features to help save power while assuring the best quality and comfort: LightSensor, Power Sensor, and SmartImage technology. While LightSensor adapts the monitor’s brightness to the ambient light for a perfect image quality with minimal power, the built-in Power Sensor detects the user’s presence and automatically adjusts the monitor’s brightness reducing it when the user steps away. This cuts energy costs by up to 70 percent and helps extend the monitor’s lifetime.

SmartImage is an exclusive leading-edge user-friendly Philips technology, which optimises the display’s performance. Based on the analysis of the content displayed, SmartImage adapts the contrast, colour saturation and sharpness of images and videos.

In addition to the wide range of cutting-edge innovations, the Philips 242B1V is energy-efficient and compliant with multiple environmental standards and certifications including EnergyStar 8.0, EPEAT* and RoHS.

Privacy-enhancing, high-performing and eco-friendly, the Philips 242B1V monitor is available from mid-June 2020 with an MSRP of £399.
