LegalTech Start-Up Legal Centric Seeking Investment to Create

HONG KONG AND JAKARTA - Legal Centric Indonesia, a fast-growing digital legal resources provider, announced today that it will be seeking further investment to accelerate its growth in the dynamic Indonesian legal, tax, and regulatory space.

Legal Centric started its web-based bilingual legal and tax information services in 2016 and has seen exceptionally strong growth since its launch. The start-up has a vast database of Indonesian laws and is the premier provider of bilingual (English and Indonesian languages) legal and tax information for the country.

Legal Centric has already achieved strong market share with the leading law and accounting firms in the market and is seeking investment to expand its services to the wider corporate market and branch out into related areas, creating a broad digital legal and regulatory resources platform for Indonesia.

Industry experts predict that Indonesia’s digital economy will grow from US38 billion in 2020 to more than US125 billion in 2025. Indonesia is at a nascent stage of digitization, with less than 50% of the adult population using a smartphone.

“E-commerce is set to increase eightfold between 2017 and 2022 and cloud computing and services are just beginning to take off. We have reached less than 5% of the market for digital legal information and have yet to address related verticals or resources. The Indonesian market presents a tremendous opportunity for us,” according to Craig Calkins, a principal with Legal Centric.
