PrimaDonna Productions Brings Acting Classes to G2E Creative Space

PrimaDonna Productions, Inc.'s (PDP's) popular acting classes will come to G2E Creative Space for their final session.

The Southtown location, the new home of G2E Services, Inc. (G2E) and 3807 Productions, was launched in 2011 by brothers Robb and Ron Garcia (owners of G2E) as a shared workspace for creative artists, businesses, and organizations, providing them with office space, as well as an opportunity to develop new ideas in collaboration with one another. From February 2-March 29, G2E Creative Space will host a special weekly session (classes will not be taught on February 23 or March 15), consisting of two classes in film and television acting, taught by Nikki Young, President of PDP. Young has announced that these sessions will be PDP's final acting classes, as she and the production company turn their focus to their current and upcoming projects. “This will be my final year teaching,” she says, “and it will be a bittersweet closing to this chapter of my professional life, but I'm excited to be working with the students for these last classes.”

Robb Garcia was previously a guest instructor in PDP's Hot Meal/Cold Read series in 2008 and 2009; as a producer, he worked with Young and one of her students, actress Gabi Walker, on the feature film Dream Healing. He says, “As a performer, Nikki is one of the most knowledgeable and professional actors I've worked with, and as a teacher, she strives to pass that same knowledge and professionalism on to her students. So I always enjoy working with her classes – I've cast actors I met through the Hot Meal/Cold Read program for G2E's projects – and I'm looking forward to meeting and working with new talent in these sessions.”

For Young, the new space is an ideal venue to launch her last year of teaching. As she explains, “Since I left teaching to focus on acting and producing, we've had so many people asking us if we could teach one more class. When the opportunity came to teach at G2E, I knew it would be a great fit. Robb and Ron have always been great supporters of the arts and arts education in San Antonio, so I'm thrilled to help support them in bringing the San Antonio creative community together.”

The classes – one for children ages 7-17, one for adults – are open to actors of all levels of experience, and will cover the basics of acting for film, television, and commercials, including:

* The History of the Craft and Industry Terms
* Cold Reading Skills and Script Memorization Techniques
* Slating, Interviewing, and Auditioning
* How to Analyze a Character
* On-Camera Performance and Analysis
* And more…

The sessions will conclude with a talent showcase on Saturday, April 7, as the students perform before a panel of industry professionals, including the Garcia brothers.
