Ohana Yoga + Barre, a yoga and barre studio in Denver, has announced their committed support of the Black Lives Matter movement:
“This community will do the work, we will act, and we will not be silent. The only thing to do right now is take action, and stand against the injustice, inequality, and hate that are absolutely unacceptable behaviors. We have to do more than disagree. Disagreeing, feeling sad, and talking about it, are not enough. Support comes from taking action, and our black communities need it now and forever. As leaders of a community and platform, we implore you to act with us. Moving forward, we will continue to use our community to fight for justice. We will use the strength of this community to make change.”
Ohana has created a drop-in class pricing option on their online Yoga + Barre platform, Ohana Online. When a student purchases the Black Lives Matter Drop-In, 100% of the profits are donated to the ACLU Denver, a local civil rights organization with a mission to protect, defend and extend the civil rights and civil liberties of all people in Colorado through litigation, education and advocacy.
The Ohana Online platform offers Yoga + Barre classes through Livestream and a shoppable on-demand library. There are 6+ classes on the Livestream schedule each day. Each live class is recorded and saved in the library, so students have access to all content created. Ohana Online is a way for students to access all the perks of a boutique fitness studio, in the comfort of their own home.
Ohana Yoga + Barre has committed to use their local and online community to take action. As a business with a growing community, standing with Black Lives Matter and sharing the messages of Black leaders will continue to carry the utmost importance. Students are encouraged to join their digital community through their social channels.
