REMA Elects New 2012 Officers and Expands Executive Committee
The addition of a second Vice President reflects REMA?s increasing scope of renewable energy activityWASHINGTON, DC - January 11, 2012 – The Renewable Energy Markets Association (REMA), the North American trade association dedicated to protecting and growing strong markets for renewable energy, today announced the election and expansion of its 2012 Executive Committee.
Rick Anderson, Senior Director of Business Development and Marketing at NextEra Energy will serve as REMA President, accompanied by Co-Vice Presidents Ian McGowan, Manager of Regulatory Affairs at 3Degrees and Veronique Marier, Manager of Green Products at Washington Gas Energy Services. Treasurer and Secretary positions will be overseen by Kevin Maddaford, Resource Development Manager at Renewable Choice Energy, and Sarah Smith, Senior Environmental Analyst at Green Mountain Energy Company, respectively.
“I am excited by the opportunity to work along side impassioned energy suppliers and marketers who are committed to advancing a strong market for renewable energy in the United States,” said Anderson. “REMA has made great strides reaching out to policy makers and the public on the importance of voluntary energy markets. I intend to build broad clean energy relationships across technologies and associations.”
REMA’s new board will represent a growing association composed of several of North America’s largest renewable energy companies, utilities, marketers, and developers, including SunPower, Austin Energy, EDP Renewables, and 3Degrees.
“We were pleased with the Board’s decision to approve the new Executive Committee,” said REMA General Manager Josh Lieberman. “Our Officers’ strategic locations in the Mid-Atlantic, Mountain West, South, and West Coast will ensure that we capitalize on more opportunities to influence green-power regulations and legislation at the state, regional and federal levels.”
