Local family opens new law firm to serve Connecticut and New England

Mystic, CT (May 14, 2007) – Thomas A. Hatfield and Anne P. Hatfield today announce the opening of their law firm, Hatfield Legal Group, LLC, which will serve clients throughout Connecticut and New England.

The full service firm, which serves clients in both domestic and international matters, provides legal counsel in a variety of areas, including real estate, business & corporate law, contracts, wills and trusts, intellectual property (patents, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets), employment law, and municipal law. Located in historic downtown Mystic, the firm’s offices are in close proximity to individuals and corporations in Southeastern Connecticut and Rhode Island.

Thomas A. Hatfield is a licensed attorney in California and Connecticut; a Registered Patent Attorney with United States Patent and Trademark Office; and a former Connecticut State Trooper. He earned a JD from Pepperdine University, a BS in Microbiology from Texas A&M and an AS In Marine Science from Mitchell College. Thomas has also completed graduate level course work in the areas of pathobiology and oceanography. He worked for several years at Pfizer Inc. in the area of liquid dosage formulations for both humans and animals. Additionally, he has completed legal studies in the area of International Contracts, International Biotechnology Law, International Environmental Law and European Union Law at Universtat de Barcelona and Oxford University. Thomas has worked for several years in the areas of Alternative Dispute Resolution, Business and Corporate Law and Intellectual Property in both Los Angeles and Connecticut.

Anne P. Hatfield is a licensed attorney in Connecticut and Massachusetts. She earned an LLM in Taxation from Georgetown Law Center, a JD, cum laude, from Oklahoma City University, a BA in Geography from University of Kentucky and an AA in Liberal Arts from Mitchell College. Anne’s areas of focus are: real estate; wills & estate planning; environmental; municipal law; employment law and torts. She has worked on various public policy issues in the former Speaker of the United States House of Representative, J. Dennis Hastert’s office of public policy. In addition, Anne has held numerous municipal level elected offices, including offices in charge of town government management. Currently Anne holds the office of First Selectman in Griswold. Anne is also very involved in the local and regional communities where she works on public policy issues including those issues related to environmental and land use concerns.
