O&O FileBackup: Data backup made easy

05-04-2020 11:09 AM CET | IT, New Media & Software

Press release from: O&O Software GmbH

There's no longer any need to search manually for photos, videos and other files in order to back them up. This can all be done automatically. O&O FileBackup can be used immediately. On every Windows PC. Without installation and without equipment. Start, select, save. Finished.

Automatic recognition of important files
O&O FileBackup automatically detects important files and suggests them for backup. After photos, videos, music and office documents are selected, all files and their corresponding file extensions will be found and backed up. The selection can be customized to include more files in the backup. Folders and entire partitions can be selected without any problem. And to make sure only the really important files are backed up, system and program files are automatically excluded. This saves time and storage space!

Automatic backup of new and changed files
To avoid searching for new or changed files, O&O FileBackup automatically detects such files for you and proposes them for backup. This is especially helpful when importing photos and videos as it immediately creates another copy of this valuable data.

Restoring files
Restoring files is as easy as backing them up: just use the built-in restore feature in O&O FileBackup to select the files you want to restore and then restore them to a target folder.

O&O FileBackup supports Windows 10, 8, and 7
O&O FileBackup requires no installation because the program can be started directly. We recommend using an external storage medium for backing up data such as a USB stick or hard disk. Along with Windows 10, O&O FileBackup also supports the older Windows versions 8 and 7 as well as Windows Server 2013, 2016 and 2019.

OO Software

O&O Software GmbH was established in 1997 in Berlin, Germany by Oliver Falkenthal and Olaf Kehrer. The idea for the name "O&O" originated back in 1991 in the form of O&O Systemtechnik GbR, a company offering software specifically for students whilst the two founders were still studying. The name "O&O" came about spontaneously, as both founders first names begin with the letter "O". In 1998, on the 10th February to be exact, O&O Defrag V1.0 was released, and the company that you see today was born.

O&O Defrag 23 now for the first time ever with SSD optimization SOLID/COMPLETE
SSDs have many advantages: they’re quick, small, and can save enormous volumes of data. And they supposedly can’t be defragmented. But that’s not true because as is the case with any system that wants to save files quickly, files will sooner or later wind up scattered across the entire storage area. Up until now, the methods available for restoring an SSDs original speed have been pretty basic. O&O Defrag 23
