Dr. Mohebi said, "Social distancing is critical since keeping a safe distance from others can greatly reduce the spread of the disease. In addition, medical offices should follow guidelines that require their staff to wear facial masks to prevent the spread of germs and medical gloves to lessen the amount of physical contact between patients and doctors. It should be noted that cosmetic procedures are considered to be elective procedures so doctors and patients should schedule a consultation to determine if it is necessary to perform the treatment at this time in states where cosmetic surgery offices are still open."
When asked how doctors can stay connected with patients at this time, Dr. Mohebi said many medical offices are "providing online consultation services and replying to emails to maintain a conversation with patients. These services, even though they might seem minimal, give patients an outlet to ask questions as well as receive the answers they want to know about cosmetic surgery during a time when many medical offices are closed for public safety."
