Australian software Company Releases Email and Document Investigation Software to Benefit Charity

Australian based Nuix, releases ‘limited edition’ eDiscovery technology solution, Proof Finder, enabling lawyers and investigators to handle small cases, with 100 per cent of proceeds going to the charity Room to Read.

Sydney, NSW, December 02, 2011 -- Nuix, an Australian based worldwide provider of information management technologies, today released 1000 licenses of a ‘limited edition’ small case investigation solution, Proof Finder, in a bid to raise money for charity Room to Read, and put advanced technology into the hands of more investigators, lawyers, law enforcement and in-house information managers.

Nuix will sell up to 1000 annual licenses at a cost of $100 each from December 1, 2011 until February 8, 2011. The company will donate 100% of the proceeds to the charity Room to Read, which works in developing countries to increase literacy skills among primary school children and supports girls to complete secondary school.

Proof Finder has the same processing, search and analysis capabilities as other Nuix eDiscovery and electronic investigation solutions, but with a 10Gb data limit.* The software makes email and other unstructured data searchable and enables people to find evidence fast, helping solve electronic investigation and eDiscovery challenges that normally require expensive technology.

“Nuix wants to give something back to the legal and investigation community and also help children in the developing world,” said Nuix CEO Eddie Sheehy. “For 10 weeks, we are asking legal and forensic investigators and analysts to support a great charity by buying a Proof Finder license and then using the tool to solve their sub-10Gb cases.”

“Even though the size of their investigations might be small in terms of Nuix’s normal application, it can still be incredibly difficult or even impossible to find evidence without good eDiscovery and electronic investigation technology,” Mr. Sheehy said.

What kinds of cases does Proof Finder solve?

· Law enforcement: Many cases involve data seized from the collection or forensic imaging of computer hard drives. Investigations that involve email are a considerable burden on law enforcement members. Proof Finder provides a simple way for investigators to catalog and search individuals’ files and emails very quickly, through a simple, powerful interface.

· Early Case Assessment: Proof Finder gives lawyers a way to start engaging eDiscovery technology as a powerful tool in their legal strategy. Within an hour or two, using Proof Finder, a lawyer could easily undertake an early case assessment on a client’s files.

· Company Investigation: Both large and small companies often need to investigate file stores and email systems for issues such as pornography, intellectual property leaks, fraud and inappropriate behavior.
