The United Nations: A Special Week Of Many Cultures Discussing Our Planet's Future.

Ms. Monet was accompanied, at the United Nation's during Spirituality week, by three members of the Hopi Clan. Their message was regarding Leaders In Crisis: Finding Peace In Chaos/Egypt, Atlantis & The Hopi Prophecy. The Hopi People prophesy that until we come together in the heart and recognize our oneness with the sacred Earth and all that exists, we will not experience peace. The hope brought forth was that there is still time, and each person must choose their path.

Monet admits, "My experience as a Speaker at UN Spirituality Week changed many of my own perceptions about the work of the United Nations and its purpose. For years I have heard talk show hosts on both political sides speak of the wrongdoing within the United Nations. What about looking at what's right? I certainly saw a lot of right in what's going on during UN Spirituality Week." Of note during this special week, was a speech at the Committee For Spirituality, Values and Global Concerns at the United Nations. The other was a television interview with Mitchell Raybin of "A Better World" about bringing the Hopi to the UN, both worth mentioning.

Many Ambassadors know the work that the Non-Government Organizations and Civil Societies (approved UN non profit organizations) do on behalf of countries around the world, bringing aid, resources and emotional and spiritual assistance to people in need. Many of these are women and children, the oppressed and victims of war. These organizations work along side the Ambassadors tirelessly to negotiate new worldwide international initiatives that will take the world beyond a power and control model into a model of peace, security and global harmony, while maintaining the dignity and human rights of each culture and its spiritual belief systems.

Monet states, "Once you have been to the United Nations, the Occupy Movement, the United Nations Chapel and Meditation Room, UN Plaza, Ground Zero, and other significant places in New York City, it takes personal experience, witnessing the good things being done within these organizations and places in order to believe that the world is changing for the better. Many positive changes are happening synergistically with the collapse of old world regimes and systems."

This week was about the Spiritual Leaders of the world who will become the new leaders in an era of oneness and peace. They understand deeply in their hearts that it begins first within them. They walk their talk. They ARE the Peace they want to see in the world.

There is a country in the world that bases its success on the happiness of the people rather than the gross national product. "Meeting Ambassador Lahtui Wangchuk of The Kingdom of Bhutan was an honor! I'm astounded at the approach this country has taken to create balance and harmony for themselves and the world," says Monet.

Two Afghani women gave testimony about the civil societies of the UN sacrificing to bring about training and assistance for their women and children? Did you know their biggest request was that they need training for their men about acceptance and equality of the sexes if they were to bring about change in Afghanistan?

Secretary General Moon made a public statement at the Security Council Meeting that more women were needed in order to bring about peace mediation?

There is an organization that believes in implementing Global Citizenship in our schools? Think about what our young people could manifest if they were trained to be caring, global citizens.

Organizations like the United Religions Initiative work tirelessly to bring all religions to the table to learn acceptance in diversity. If the religious leaders of our world begin to model understanding, compassion and acceptance, then together we can bring all humanity and the Earth back
into balance.

Change and peace begins within our own hearts and minds, expands to our personal action, then to influencing others in our communities; i.e., church leadership, national leaders, and then global leaders. These principles were demonstrated in the meetings of the CSVGC-NY (Center For Spiritual Values and Global Concerns-NY) and many other participating organizations during UN Spirituality Week.
