Delta Janitorial Systems Supports Green Cleaning

Irving, Texas, 18 November 2011 – Delta Janitorial Systems realizes both the importance and the benefits of “going green” with regard to cleaning. Green cleaning is often more cost effective than using harsh cleaning chemicals that can have a lasting effect on both the business and outdoor environments.

The Environmental Protection Agency and the American Lung Association have both produced independent studies which demonstrate that most standard cleaning procedures (i.e. using harsh chemicals such as products containing bleach or ammonia, amongst other noxious chemicals) can adversely affect someone’s health. Harsh cleaning agents may instigate asthma attacks in individuals prone to suffering from asthma, and the residue left behind on counters and other surfaces may cause skin irritation and rashes.

These additional health costs incurred by employees also wind up costing businesses money in order to pay for the insurance necessary to cover doctor visits and subsequent time off to deal with illnesses. These illnesses are usually allergic reactions which are misdiagnosed as either cold or flu symptoms. A study performed by the city of Richmond, California proved that the use of “green” cleaning products and non-toxic cleaning agents drastically decreased employee absenteeism.

A large part of the green cleaning movement involves the production of less waste. Using green cleaning products reduces the amount of hazardous waste being put into the environment by over 3,000 pounds each year. What this means for the public is that Delta Janitorial Systems will not be polluting the urban environment and waterways with harmful chemicals. Natural cleaning agents are biodegradable and will not harm the groundwater supply.

Most of the green cleaning solutions employed by Delta Janitorial Systems include using plant and citrus-based cleansers to clean surfaces without leaving many irritating chemicals behind. These types of naturally-sourced cleaning agents are also beneficial to people who suffer from asthma, as their scents decrease rather rapidly, leaving nothing but a clean-smelling environment behind.

Delta Janitorial Systems values their client’s health and well-being above all else. Its employees understand that a clean and healthy environment creates a more productive business and cuts down on employees missing work days due to illnesses and allergic reactions caused by poor air quality and the residual health effects of cleaning compounds. Delta takes a direct approach in caring for the environment by putting these naturally-sourced products to use and encourages their customers to do the same. Going green is the new clean!
