Myth 1. Used robots are obsolete, sluggish, and not as accurate as newer models.
Industrial Robots have not changed much in the past ten years. For the bulk of industrial uses, the speed and accurateness of used robots are very similar to a newer model. When it comes to lifetime, there is little difference between new and old robots. A fully reconditioned robot has a life of 8-12 years, while a new robot typically lasts 10-15 years.

Myth 2. Used robots are more complicated to program.
Programming has not changed radically during the last ten years. Despite the introduction of new software and Windows interfacing, the tools and process remain the same. Programmers still use the teach pendant and robot to chart points and set up an application. Older and new robots are equally user-friendly and effortless to program.

Myth 3. It’s harder to find used robot parts.
Used robot parts are more readily accessible than parts for newer robots. Many used robotic parts have been on the market for over 25 years. When you buy used parts, you can expect access to a large selection of high-quality parts and affordable prices.
